ARCADE PCB TEST REPAIR STATION (TRS)
ARCADE PCB TEST REPAIR STATION (TRS)
ARCADE PCB TEST REPAIR STATION (TRS)
A design over a year in development has finally become a reality!
We are proud to present the Arcade PCB Test Repair Station.
I myself have repaired arcade circuit board for quite some time now, and as all who are in the hobby know, a PCB repairer's workbench becomes a state of disaster! Having lived through this nightmare for decades, I finally decided to put an end to it and design an all in one, clean and solid bench unit.
What this does is allow any arcade technician to test and repair their arcade PCB's.
These are made from 1.6mm, laser cut steel and then powder coated. They're VERY solid, with a total weight being around 7kg. These could easily support 50+ kg of weight.
The front text labels are nitrogen laser cut into the steel. With an acrylic backing and an internal LED strip, they do light up and it looks amazing! And no, it is not an airplane cockpit, although I have been told that many times before.
It has 3 voltage displays.. 5V, 12V and Voltage input.
Voltage input is connected to a DMM female jack internally, and a trigger probe is included which can be used to test voltages at the IC's
The 5V/12V line has an adjustable pot at the front.
Inside is an internal amplifier with an on/off switch and volume control knob at the front. The amp's input is connected to a 3.5mm front female jack. A probe is included, and this is used to test audio at the IC's (op amps, synthesizers etc). You can also connect a phone (or any audio output device) to this via a 3.5mm male to male cable and play music while you work if you like.
A JAMMA harness connects to the unit via 3x T.E VAL-U-LOK plugs.
All wiring is 20 AWG with 16x2mm core and .3mm Insulation thickness. Very solid while remaining flexible.
All buttons are Sanwa SDM-18 (besides TEST and Service) which are extremely reliable.
2x Mean Well PSU's are mounted inside, with one (RT-65A) powering the PCB at 6A, and the other (PD-25A) powering the internal Amp.
5x female, colour coded banana socket at the rear are used to output direct RGBSG
2x Ground female banana socket outputs at the front
2x 5V female banana socket outputs at the front
2x Speakers... 1 being connected to JAMMA direct and the other connected to the internal amp.
1x 120mm Cooler master silent fan at the rear for internal cooling.
I am also including an LP-560 Logic Probe with 4mm banana plugs. This will plug into 1 of each 5V and ground banana sockets at the front of the unit.
What is included...
- TRS Unit
- Connectable JAMMA Wiring Harness
- LP-560 Audio Logic Probe
- 3.5mm Male Probe (for audio testing)
- 4mm DMM Probe (for voltage testing)
- 5x colour coded male banana plugs (for RGBSG connecting)
What is not included...
- Power cable. The TRS uses a standard IEC power cable. Any PC cable will work, however this is not included as different countries have different wall sockets. Voltage input ranges from 88 - 264VAC so the unit can be powered in any country.
- Monitor. You will need to supply your own CRT that allows for RGB input.
- Knowledge. This unit is not a miracle product. Electronic circuitry knowledge is needed in order for one to comfortably repair their circuit boards.
